Counselingolistico - Holistic Counseling
Dott. Eugenio Bacchini.
I obtained a university degree in Pedagogy from the University of Florence in 1991, with the maximum vote of 110/110. My thesis was a comparison between psychotherapy and certain Eastern meditation practices entitled: "The East of Jung and Humanistic Psychology".
I subsequently obtained a Masters in Professional Training ("Formazione Formatori") from ISMO ("Interventi e Studi Multidisciplinari nelle Organizzazioni" - Multi-Disciplinary Studies and Activities in Organizations) of Milan in 1992. I also obtained a Diploma after completing a three year course from the School of Psychosynthesis at the "Centro Studi di Psicosintesi Roberto Assagioli" (Roberto Assagioli Center for the Study of Psychosynthesis) of Florence, where I also worked as a collaborator for a number of years.
More recently, I obtained a Masters in Clinical Pedagogy from ISFAR ("Istituto Superiore Formazione Aggiornamento e Ricerca" - Higher Educational Institute of Training and Research) of Florence.
I have taken training courses in Coaching and NLP with Robert Dilts as well as attended workshops with Steven Gilligan and Bill O’Hanlon, who studied with the hypnotherapist Milton Erickson.
I have been registered as a Professional Counselor with the American Counseling Association; founding member of FAIC/NBCC-Italia; and as a Counselor Trainer with the Italian Register of Professional Counselors maintained by F.A.I.P. ("Federazione delle Associazioni Italiane di Psicoterapia” - Italian Federation of Psychotherapy Associations). I am a Holistic Counselor and founding member of S.I.C.O.OL. (Società Italiana dei Counselor e Operatori Olistici), and am currently a member of S.I.C.O.OL.’s board of directors.
I am one of the founding members and currently President of Associazione Toscana Counseling (“ATC”) (Tuscan Counseling Association), and am director of the counseling school that it sponsors.
In addition to my private clinical practice, I have been working for years as a professional educator in the public mental health sector. I have also been working extensively as a trainer and coach in the area of “Emotional Management, Communications and Interpersonal Relationships” on behalf of public and private associations, cooperatives and companies.
I have been studying Eastern disciplines and their integration with Western psychology for more than twenty years. I believe that Eastern meditative practices (Buddhism, Taoism, Yoga, Vedanta) constitute a refined and extremely advanced science of the mind. I have been practicing meditation for more than twenty-five years. My research has led me to study the teachings of different schools, such as S.R.F. founded by Paramahansa Yogananda and the Tibetan Buddhist school Nyingmapa. Further, I have practiced Tai chi, Chi Kung with the methods of Tao Yoga of mr. Mantak Chia; Aikido and Kum Nye, Tibetan exercises of psychophysical relaxation.
I believe that music has a great therapeutic power, and I seek to integrate it in my counseling sessions together with other expressive techniques. I studied classical guitar for a number of years with maestro Alejandro Maza, and then subsequently at the school of music of Sesto Fiorentino; I also studied jazz at the Andrea del Sarto school in Florence.
