THE SERVICES I OFFER
Counseling and Coaching for individuals, couples, and groups in organizational contexts. Coaching developed in the United States in a corporate environment. The coach provides support to a person in order to establish professional and personal objectives. Similar to a counselor, the coach does not propose direct solutions, but instead assists the client to find responses and solutions on his own. Coaching is focused on the present and future in the context of work and career. Coaching places greater emphasis on the practical result to be achieved: it activates the client’s hidden potential and develops plans and strategies that allow him to reach his career objectives. Counseling is instead focused on increased development and consciousness of the individual Ego and the self, and its objective is that of self-awareness and self-realization.
Individual Counseling. In individual sessions, the counselor supplies the client with relational support in order to: - review his personal experiences; - identify his problems and confront his sense of discomfort; - encourage him to find efficient solutions. By means of specific exercises, the client is enabled to come into contact with the various components of his individual identify, define his limits, become aware of his needs, and activate his/her inner resources and energies. By assuming responsibility towards himself, he is encouraged to define new objectives and to plan strategies to modify negative behavior. Counseling for Couples.
With regard to problems regarding couples, the counselor acts: - as a communications facilitator; - as a third party who assists identifying the causes of the conflict and the emotions at play; - as a third party to whom both can speak openly without restraint in order to interrupt the conflict blocking communication between the couple; - as a mediator who notes objective facts and common points.
Group Counseling. Within a group the counselor: - places attention on communications mechanisms and interpersonal and emotional dynamics that arise in a group context; - stimulates awareness of each individual’s various emotional and communicative blocks; - encourages overcoming reciprocal distrust.
Counseling and Coaching in an Organizational Context.
The objective of counseling and coaching in an organizational context is that of increasing the level of personal satisfaction and well-being and to create a positive climate within an Organization (whether a Company, Association, or Community), so that unresolved conflicts and person problems do not penalize the optimal functioning of the organization itself. 1. In a company, counseling and coaching can have a positive influence on productivity. Counseling in a company is aimed at persons having individual and professional problems, both managers and employees, at an individual or group level. It contributes to reducing individual stress and discomfort, improving personal growth and the quality of interpersonal relationships and interpersonal communications, and can provide indications to the company on internal factors that cause stress. Coaching in the context of a company helps improve job performance, and stimulates people to reach their maximum potential, both individually and collectively, by focusing on concrete facts and situations in such a way as to promote the achievement of specific objectives. 2. In a non-profit organization, counseling can have a positive influence on the quality of the service or assistance provided to others. Within the context of non-profit associations, counseling can assist individuals to: - clarify motivations, in order to improve the quality of interpersonal relationships with colleagues and the service provided to third parties; - become aware of individual strengths and weaknesses, learning in what manner they can influence interpersonal relationships; - become aware of personal characteristics and learn how to pay greater attention to one’s emotions in different situations, developing emotional self-control; - develop increased sensitivity towards listening to one’s inner voice as well as the thoughts and feelings expressed by others, thus enhancing an empathetic attitude towards others. |
